Year 13 Btec L3 Applied Science

Hi all

Attached are two grabs of my board with the work that needs completing ASAP.  Without this your portfolios will be incomplete:

Deadlines are fast approaching and you can not afford to miss these sections of you portfolios.

Do you have 20 minutes a day to spare to help someone read?

If so, you could become a qualified reading coach at Newport High School.
You will receive full training, could achieve WBQ accreditation and gain a great addition to your CV or UCAS application.
Limited places are available so please see Ms Cocchiara or emailsco@newporthigh.co.uk no later than 5th February 2013

Year 12 2013 Oxford and Cambridge Student Conference

This conference is a chance for Year 12 students  to have the best possible opportunity to find out more about these universities, from comparing and contrasting our courses and admissions procedures, through to talking with current undergraduates, lecturers, and admissions tutors in a whole variety of subjects. There will also be material available about Oxbridge interviews, student finance, careers options, etc.
This year's free conference is taking place in Swansea's Liberty Stadium on Tuesday 19th March 2013 and is a brilliant opportunity to learn more about education at these first class institutions.  Every year, students from  Welsh schools just like ours win places at both Oxford and Cambridge and next year IT COULD BE YOU!
Please give your name to Mrs Brockley in the library if you are interested in attending.

2 students have been invited to attend the Lessons from Auschwitz Project – the innovative four-part course organised by the Holocaust Educational Trust gives two post-16 students the opportunity to visit the former Nazi death and concentration camp at Auschwitz-Birkenau.  The one day visit takes place on Wednesday 27 February.
For more information about the Lessons from Auschwitz Project, please visit our website at www.lfaproject.org.uk.
If you are interested, please come and see me.
